In the second half of November, the light in Istanbul softens. At Atatürk Arboretum the leaves turn their deepest colours, the morning mist lifts over the Golden Horn, and in the evening the city switches on its own lights. This year I would like to photograph that week together.
We will spend the morning at the Arboretum with the colours of autumn: exposure in the texture of leaves, reflections on the surface of the water. In the afternoon, walking down from Galata to Eminönü, we will work on composition and people within the city. In the evening we will set up our tripods and follow the light trails. Sunday morning Sultanahmet, in the afternoon the colourful streets of Balat.
The group is small, so at every stop there will be time to talk one-to-one about settings and framing. I look forward to seeing autumn and the city together with anyone who would like to join.
